With our own project manager, Emily, annoyed at how difficult it was to get her kids a place in school holiday activities (via brochure and fax and hope), we set about building a better system.
Hippogo let’s activity providers setup their activities, and parents can search, pay for and manage all their bookings from their own login.
The activity providers manage all their activities with availability, restrictions and other parameters while offering discounting through coupon codes.
On the day of the activity, all their bookings are compiled into checklists with child information that’s required for administration and emergencies.
Being able to book online is unique and is fixing some major issues in the industry.
Stripe has allowed us to create a marketplace for activities. In a single transaction Hippogo can credit multiple activity provider’s bank accounts while holding a percentage booking fee. This business would previously not have been possible without us holding all the money – vastly decreasing overhead costs and risk.
Live in August 2014, we’ve learnt a lot about starting from scratch online. Manually on-boarding providers, rapid feature development, community engagement and social media have been part of the strategy that we’ve advised on in the past – and now get to use for ourselves.
We're helping startups in planning and strategy through to design and development. If you have an idea that you think has legs, come and have a confidential discussion about our process to achieve MVP, release, and production into working scalable products.
